My Friends Rock.
So I've been wanting to learn how to spin for a long time now, but I didn't want to spend the money on a wheel until I was sure it was something I would be into enough to be worth the money. Getting to the part where my friends rock... Rachel let me borrow her adorable little wheel to play with:
And then Lynne gave me a spinning lesson on Wednesday. She was also kind enough let me borrow one of her wheels so I could practice on a full size one:
Last night I was having some trouble keeping track of the fiber and making the wheel turn at the same time and was getting a little frustrated. Then something just clicked this morning and I started getting the hang of it! I'm so excited! I still don't really have a clue what I'm doing, but I think I will be able to pick it up pretty quickly once I get a book or do some more reading online. What I have figured out so far is that I think I prefer the double treadles to the single treadle.
I'm so glad to have friends who have no problem enabling me! Now I just need to decided what kind of wheel I want and buy it. Then maybe I can get a sheep and an alpaca and maybe a goat and a bunny.... I like yarn, I like animals, there's no way this could become a problem...
