Bzzz, Bzzz, Bzzz
I think I am going to attempt to make this... Not sure if I'm insane or not, but I finally finished my travel project (a pair of socks that took FOREVER to finish) and need something new that is easy to keep in my purse. Plus, I have a whole lot of sock yarn scraps that I could put to a purpose rather than just having them hanging around in ziplock bags forever.
Here's my question though, how many of the same colorway should I make? I don't mind having some repeats as I have more of some yarn than others but I don't know if I want it to be super obvious that there are lots of one and only a few of another. I think I have to set a limit of how many I will make from a certain yarn and then maybe try to trade what ever extra I might have for other peoples scraps. Definitely going to have to ponder this.
Here is my first hexipuff:
I feel like it came out smaller than the ones in the picture look, what do you think? Pattern says they will be about 3 inches in diameter, but mine is closer to 2.5 inches. I got fairly close to the correct gauge though, so I don't know what happened. Gauge is always an issue for me... I guess I knit really loosely? It doesn't feel loose as I knit, but I usually have to go down at least two needle sizes to get the gauge a pattern calls for. I only when down from 4s to 3s for this, so maybe that is why mine is a little smaller? If I use 4s though you are going to be able to see the stuffing right through the stitches. You already can a little bit... I don't know, maybe it is because this yarn was a stretchy? I shall try another in a non-stretchy yarn and see what happens...
